We are broken - what must we do to restore?
I have Paramore lyrics running through my head. I like them. Paramore. And the lyrics.
Did you all hear about the guy in Austria who kept his daughter in his basement for something like 24 years, and fathered 8 children with her? And his wife lived with him? And says she knew nothing? And at one time the daughter gave birth to twins, and one died (they didn't say why), and the father/grandfather burnt the corpse in the oven. Holy hell. The capacity people have for evil is awful.
Because yesterday was a day ending in 'y', I was completely suckered into buying something I don't need that is scented. Lol. I decided to visit the new "Aerie" store that is part of American Eagle, but now has its own separate storefront, and they had these little netted bags full of scented beads that you put in your dryer with your clothes and it scents your clothes. (Isn't that what fabric softener sheets are for? Yes, shut up evil common sense voice in my head. I happen to need a netted bag of scented beads.) And with my purchase of the netted bag of scented beads, they gave me a ribbon. Why? I don't know. But I put it in my car and delighted in its girly-ness:

And then, because I was in a picture taking mood, I went across the street to where they actually do nice landscaping for the blood-sucking vampires of the ACL (Pat: You said the guy who took your blood was very nice. Me: Yes, he even used a baby needle. They're still blood suckers. Pat: *sigh*)
I liked this one the best:

These were nice too:

And then, just because, this is the train station I have to take my parents to at 7:30 in the morning on Thursday (ugh - I am going to be so tired that day):

They are taking the train to New York City for my niece's Indian wedding that my mom does not approve of. This makes me a little nervous... I feel like I ought to be there to guide them around, but they insist they will be fine. Pat noted that they had been to New York City on more than one occasion and have come back unscathed. This is true.
Other than shopping and picture taking, I went with Pat and we talked to Tim about Pat re-roofing his garage, and talked to a co-worker about re-roofing her house, and went to see a house that I liked, but Pat did not. I could see myself living there, but it did have definite drawbacks. It only had a crawspace, not a full basement, and the front door opened into the master bedroom. Awkward!
As a side note, they had the most darling cat. It was buff-colored and accidentally ran outside and then immediately laid in the sun on the driveway. And it let me pick it up. So cute! I got to meet Tim's cats this weekend too - they are also very cute! I have cat envy.
And I did laundry (I smell very nice today! Lol.), and we watched "Hero", which was awesome. And I finished a book. It was a good weekend.
Today I'm wearing sandals in spite of the rain, and am going to make chili for dinner, which seems like a nice cold rainy weather day type of food.
I found out yesterday that my deadbeat brother is back living in Erie. *grimace* At least it's not with my parents.
