Marriage
Me: I'm down today.
Pat: Why is that?
Me: I just feel like I can't handle everything at work. I feel overwhelmed, but I have to stay here.
Pat: So what do you want to do?
Me: I don't know yet. I at least have to stick it out until June.
Pat: Why is that?
Me: Then I can take all my 401k with me.
Pat: I see. So you're going to the grocery store after work and then coming home?
Me: I don't really want to...
Pat: So don't go.
Me: We have nothing to eat.
Pat: Nothing?! I'm sure we have something.
Me: *thinks of lone box of mac'n cheese* No, we really have nothing.
Pat: Then screw it, we'll order in.
Me: *sigh of relief*

There are many times where all we have in the house is that lone box of mac'n'cheese (I swear it will never get used). It's really a moot point since we rarely buy milk.

Newbie question here, but why can you take all of your 401k with you in June and not now?

Do you know of any other websites to look at for jobs in Erie besides the classifieds on GoErie, Monster and Yahoo Hotjobs? I'm trying to move us back up there but I need a job or something to justify the move. :-/

Or could you keep your eye open in the newspaper for me? Looking for basically any computer administrator/web developer/etc position. I applied at a job at Gannon for a junior computer administrator which is an awfully big jump as I am the senior UNIX administrator at my current company. *shrug*

June will mark my five year anniversary of employment, and I'll be 100% vested, so any money the firm contributed to my 401k I can take, as well as all the money I put in. I can always take my money, but the money they contributed is on a schedule - like after one year, you can take 25%, etc.

Naw, I don't know of any other job search engines. I used to like goerie's search engine, but now it's kind of screwy. I will keep an eye open for computer jobs though!

Oh ok. I had no idea how that worked but I've been here for almost six years so I guess I'm fine?

Careerbuilder and Monster seem to just be spam traps anymore. It seems like whenever I open up my resume to be searchable I get a lot more spam. Thanks for keeping an eye open! I just found an investment property in Erie that I wish I could go take a look at. It's selling for $26k and was appraised at $60k. Looks like it needs a new roof, a lot of work in the yards, new coat of paint both inside and out, (hardwood) floors need refinished, etc. Definitely worth it though if you could put in $10k and sell it for $30k more.
