Ants marching
So, I did end up taking off half of Monday and sleeping fitfully through the afternoon and evening. Yesterday I went back to work, and that was an experience. I was all dizzy and disoriented all day, and then they made us take our lunch hour to watch this booooooring video about Office 2007 (which we are getting), and when I pulled out my little baggie of chips to eat, there were ants in the bag. *raises one eyebrow* I was not amused.
I'm not sure how the ants got into the bag because it was securely clipped, but I did leave it on the floor next to the bed the night before, so I suppose they could have maneuvered their way in that way. And how did I not notice this when I poured the chips into the bag? Granted, I was half-asleep. Anyway.
When the day finally ended, I made haste with Project Ant-Be-Gone by going to the Walmarts and picking up everything that had the words "ant" and "dead" on it. And some de-con, for good measure.
Speaking of my friend, the mouse, my parents gave me this mouse trap (the de-con I had was like, four years old), so I put peanut butter on the mousetrap, and lo and behold, the mouse ate all the peanut butter off, without springing the trap. *purses lips* I was not amused.
The ants seem to have gone for all the various ant-killing mechanisms we placed around, and nary an ant was to be seen today, so I hope this is one problem that has been solved.
Pat has been so horrified at the ants. I am not thrilled obviously, but when I came in with the ant-killer, he took a running start for the bag and didn't quit until the place was plastered. (I found this kind of amusing. Tehe.)
Today my ears are all plugged up, so everything is quiet and has a nice hum. I could go for this, except I keep having to ask "What?" everytime someone asks me something. Still lots of coughing and phlegm. Good times.
This morning I had to go to a notary reappointment education class. I almost fell asleep during the first half, but I procured some diet coke and made a hasty recovery. As it was, I was hacking and coughing through the whole thing. I'm surprised they let me stay. I am the juvenile delinquent of notary publics.
Being sick has really messed with my head. I have been to the store four times since Sunday, and still haven't remembered to pick up the chili mix I need to make chili tonight. *facepalm*
On a better note, my friend Cara had her baby! Today, at 1:38pm - it's a girl and they named her Marley Marie. :-)
